About us

Terms of useWhat we do, and where the roofer takes over.

These terms cover how Find My Roofer works in New Zealand. Checked local roofers see your job, and the one who takes it contacts you. The roofer quotes and does the work, and your agreement for that work is with them, not with us.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Blufire Pty Ltd, ABN 14 665 545 282, the Australian company that runs Find My Roofer New Zealand. By using the site or sending the enquiry form, you agree to them.

What we do, and what we don't

We show your roofing job to local roofers who have signed up with us and passed our checks, and the first to take it receives your contact details. Your mobile number is checked before any roofer sees the job.

We don't do roofing work, visit or assess roofs, give quotes or supervise jobs. We can't promise that a roofer will be free for your job, or that one covers your area yet.

Using the enquiry form

Please give accurate details, and only ask for a roofer for a property you own or have the owner's permission to arrange work on. If you rent, check with your landlord first.

Please don't use the form to send spam, test our systems, or pass on someone else's details without their agreement.

Your agreement with the roofer

Any quote, contract, warranty or payment is between you and the roofer. Get the price in writing before work starts. Once you accept a quote, it's a fixed price unless you agree to extra work. An estimate is only a best guess, and Consumer Protection says the final bill should generally land within 10 to 15% of it.

For residential building work of $30,000 or more including GST, the contract must be written and dated. Every residential building contract, written or spoken, also carries warranties set by the Building Act, including that the work will be done competently with suitable materials. Our guide to written contracts and disclosure explains what to ask for.

Your consumer rights still apply

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, a roofer's service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, be fit for any purpose you made known to them, be finished within a reasonable time if no date was agreed, and cost a reasonable price if no price was agreed. Consumer Protection says these rights apply whether or not a warranty is offered, and can't be signed away.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Our guides

Our guides are general information from published sources. They aren't advice about your particular roof, and they aren't quotes. Only a roofer who has seen your roof can tell you what it needs and what it'll cost.

Liability, changes and the law that applies

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any roofer's quote, advice or workmanship, because that's between you and the roofer. None of that limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts deal with any dispute about them.

If we change these terms, the date on this page will change too. If anything here doesn't make sense, email info@blufire.com.au and we'll explain it plainly.

Where this information comes from
