Why match a job with a specialist?
Finding a roofer usually goes one of two ways. You post a job and several tradies get in touch, or you scroll through a directory of profiles and ring around yourself. Both can work, but both leave the sorting to you, often while there's water coming through the ceiling.
We do the sorting first. Your job is shown to local roofers who cover your area, specialise in that kind of work and are Find My Roofer certified. They see your first name and suburb, nothing more, and only the first one to take the job gets your contact details. You have one conversation instead of several, and the roofer gets a job that's worth taking time over.
Where are we up to in New Zealand?
Right now we're signing up roofers across New Zealand. Nobody gets a job from us until they've passed our checks, so there'll be parts of the country we can't cover for a while. If that's where you are, we'll tell you straight away rather than pass your job to the wrong person.
Where only a few roofers have joined, a job nobody takes within 48 hours can be shown to roofers elsewhere in your region, so it isn't left sitting.
What we check, and what we don't do
Where a job is restricted building work, such as a re-roof that needs a building consent, the law says it must be done or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) licensed for that work. We check the roofer's status on the public LBP register, and we see their insurance before they get anything from us. The full list is on how we check roofers.
We're not a roofing company. We don't visit, quote or do any work on your roof. The roofer does all of that, and your agreement for the work is with them.
